Dr Tan Eng Choon is a Consultant Urologist at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre. He is also a Visiting Consultant Urologist at the National University Hospital and Singapore General Hospital, a Member of the Advisory Committee on Urology with the Ministry of Health and a Kidney Transplant Surgeon with the Ministry of Health.

In addition to the common endoscopic surgery of the lower urinary tract such as transurethral resection of the prostate gland and bladder tumours, Dr Tan’s special interests include new technology in the treatment of urinary stones with non-invasive Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), ureteroscopy to remove ureteric stones as well as percutaneous nephrolithotripsy for large staghorn stones. He also treats urological cancer of the prostate, bladder, kidneys and testes using both conventional open surgery as well as minimally invasive techniques and newer robotic surgery for prostate cancer.
