M Med (Ophth) (Singapore) 1995
FRCSEd (Ophth) 1995

Dr Lee’s recent appointment by Parkway Health Group as Medical Director, Senior Consultant Eye Surgeon and strategic partner is to spearhead Parkway Eye Centre as the leading light in eye care both locally and internationally.

Prior to his current appointment, Dr Lee was formerly the Head of LASIK surgery in 2 of Singapore’s premier hospitals – Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and National University Hospital (NUH). Dr Lee made a mid-career switch from public to private service recently in May 2007 and he quipped it as ‘A mid-life crisis’ decision.

As one of only 3 Asian surgeons who sits on the 10-member-Global Advisory Board for Refractive Surgery, Bausch & Lomb, Dr Lee has achieved many ‘Firsts’ in LASIK surgery:

First surgeon in the world to perform Wavefront LASIK using Iris-recognition technology in 2004.
He led the medical teams that performed the first Wavefront-guided LASIK in China (2002) as well as in Taiwan (2003).
First in Singapore to perform the All-Laser, No Blade LASIK in 2004
First in Singapore to implant a lens implant into the eye to treat severe myopia in 2004
First in Singapore to insert an implantable contact lens to cure severe myopia in 2005
First in Asia to perform bladeless Cornea transplant using IntraLase in May 2007 at Parkway Eye Centre (a facility of Gleneagles Hospital).
